Refining tools and libraries
As we continue to build Motion Studio, we focus on refining the tools you love while adding new ways to make your workflow even more seamless. Palettes and Easings have been great libraries for creating consistency throughout your animations, and now we are adding the Re-Keys library to that.
Re-Keys Library
One set of keyframes can often be used multiple times in an animation. Take, for example, a title that always fades and scales in the frame the same way. Before, you had to open the previous project file to find the keyframes, search for the layer, copy the keyframes, open your current project file, and paste the keyframes. With Re-Keys, you can simply save the keyframes and apply them whenever you want. You can either apply the Re-Key exactly how you saved it, or if you have a different composition size, you can apply the Re-Key relative so the animation looks the same.
Just like Palettes and Easings, we have added the ability to export and import Re-Keys in the Motion Studio Application, so you can easily share the Re-Keys you made with your colleagues and keep the branding consistent.
Motion Mini Updates
Motion Mini is an extremely useful tool, and we have made it even more useful. We have seen your requests and have added the following tools to Motion Mini:
-
Copy Color
-
Paste Color
-
Copy Easing
-
Paste Easing
-
Swap Fill & Stroke
The new Re-Keys can also be added to Motion Mini for quick access.
Besides that, you can now use modifier keys to run a tool with different parameters. For example, a default click on the Anchor tool centers the anchor point on the layer, but with a ctrl + click, you'll center the layer in the composition.
Palettes and Easings
We made a bunch of changes to how libraries are stored and interacted with. As a result of this, you can now reorder swatches in a palette and easings in an easing library. Now you can finally realign your color gradient so it's visually pleasing.
Other changes
Some small updates to improve the experience:
-
Indepentent Panel Scaling: Panels can now be scaled independently from each other.
-
Motion Studio Application Scaling: We have added scaling buttons to the preference dropdown, so scaling is easier on every page.
-
Expandable Navigation: Having a hard time figuring out where the icons in the navigation lead to? Now you can expand the sidebar and see the name of the page before click on it.
-
Scrolling and Dragging Color Sliders: Just like in Adobe After Effects or Adobe Illustrator you can now scroll or drag on the Color sliders and input fields to adjust the color.
